"Poverty should remain the domain of the virtuous. I've no taste for it."
—Lord Charles Lambeth

Lord Charles Lambeth, played by Joe Loesch (pictured on right), voice actor and spoken word producer in Nashville, is the husband of Lady Georgia Lambeth. They were married in 1907.[1][2] Their marriage has gone bad and he is in the Smoking Room often. He has become bankrupt and has resorted to heavy drinking as a result of owing money to Andrew Conkling. The best way for the player to get information from Charles is to accept his offer of liquor, and remark to the bartender that the drinks should be charged to his room, which Charles greatly appreciates.

He gave Georgia's necklace of diamonds to Sasha Barbicon, so that he could sell it in New York, quietly, for a twenty percent commission. Charles would then get the remaining 80%, and use it to pay off his debt to Andrew Conkling. He would then put Georgia, who he deems to be "emotionally unstable" into a sanitorium, before sailing back to England a free and clear man again.

When the ship hits an iceberg, Charles remains calm and chooses to go down with the ship like a gentleman, saying that he was "going to the devil full of gin". If Carlson misses the last lifeboat, Charles is last seen on the aft part of the boat deck, he simply states "Sorry, I have nothing to say."

Behind the scenesEdit

  • Charles Lambeth is referred to, by himself and by other characters, as "Lord Lambeth". This implies that "Lambeth" is in fact part of his title and not his surname. His full title is never given in the game, and all it can be inferred is that it is not a Dukedom (Dukes are always so described; "Lord" is reserved for the lower ranks of the peerage).

Notes and referencesEdit

  1. Carlson: "Where did you two meet?"
Lambeth: "Four years ago at a house party. She enchanted me. We got married and were happy."
  2. The original Cyberflix website, which is now defunct, describes their wedding as "The social event of 1907". This, coupled with the fact that, in-game, Lambeth says they were married "four years ago", implies that they were married in 1907 but sometime after April (thus setting the game before their 5th anniversary).
